Margaret Eileen Vancura, 79, longtime resident of Huntington Beach, passed away January 10, 2013 at home with loved ones by her side. Born August 6, 1933, in London England, she moved as an adult to Montreal, Canada. There she married and began raising five children. The family moved to California, later settling in Huntington Beach where she worked for a time as the city’s Minute Clerk. A love of arts and crafts led to several business ventures including “Costumed Traditionals by Eileen.” The elaborately costumed dolls and bears that sold at community events and gift shops, won her several awards. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be missed by many. She is survived by her children: Anthony (Kathleen) Vancura, Josephine (Glenn) Ferraris, Hans Vancura Jr, Kelly (Angela) Vancura; grandchildren: Christopher and Emily Vancura; and siblings: Stephen Young, Malvina Young. She is preceded in death by her son: Vincent Vancura; siblings: James Young, Josephine Noonan and parents: William and Matilda Young. Mass will be held at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, January 28th, 8:15 a.m. Her final resting place will be forever in our hearts. Donations “In Her Memory” can be made to Mission San Juan Capistrano Serra Chapel.
