Costa Mesa High product Jorge Sanchez and Tyler Rios each had a goal and an assist to lead the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game on Tuesday.

Blake Mooney and Thales Serra also scored for the Pirates (5-4-2, 4-2-1 in conference).

Goalkeeper Nathan Brown made six saves and Connor Brown had two saves for Orange Coast.

Norco fell to 6-7-1, 1-5-1.

OCC visits Santiago Canyon on Friday at 3 p.m.

Concordia 5, Vanguard 1

IRVINE — The visiting Lions gave up four second-half goals in the Golden State Athletic Conference clash on Tuesday.

Josh Banta scored the lone goal for Vanguard (6-6-1, 2-4-1 in conference), without an assist.

Concordia improved to 10-3, 7-0.

The Lions play at Hope International in a GSAC match Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

SIMI VALLEY — UC Irvine tied for seventh in the 54-hole event that concluded Tuesday at Wood Ranch Golf Club

Junior Pete Fernandez finished 19th to lead the Anteaters. he shot 216.

‘Eaters and Long Beach State finished at 875, 26 shots off the pace of victorious Cal State Fullerton.

UCI senior Allan Jun (23rd at 217), and senior Travis Russell (43rd at 221) also stood out for UCI.

It was the final tournament of the fall for the ‘Eaters, who host the 34th annual Anteater Invitational Jan. 27-28 at Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa.
