Commentary: We were lucky for ’13 precious years’ with Maddy

Madison May Boutelle,

The world is a sadder place without you in it. You were everyone’s bit of sunshine, and we were so lucky to have you for 13 precious years. You will be missed by many. You touched so many people’s lives.

At St. Andrew’s the other night, we couldn’t believe how many “best friends” you had — everyone who came up to us said you were theirs.

You had such a beautiful heart and soul. We feel so blessed our children (your nieces and nephews) get to have you as their guardian angel.

Thank you for bringing your special love to our lives. There won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t remember you.

Everyone, hug your kids a little tighter today, and please keep praying for our parents. No one should have to see their kids go before them.

For anyone who knew Maddy, or our family, and wants to come, we are having a service on Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 600 St. Andrews Road, Newport Beach. Thank you for all your love and support. Maddy was a special child and will be dearly missed.

Thank you.

ALLISON KIRKLEY-CASSARA is one of Maddy Boutelle’s sisters. Maddy, an Ensign Intermediate student, died this week of aneurysm at age 13.
