High School Roundup: Laguna Beach boys’ water polo gets past Corona del Mar

Nick Hoffs scored five goals for the Laguna Beach High boys’ water polo team in a 12-3 win over Corona del Mar on Wednesday night at CdM.

Will Kelly added three goals for Laguna Beach (10-7, 1-2 in league), which picked up its first league victory. Holden Seybold scored twice for the Breakers, who are tied for No. 7 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 poll.

Senior Troy Grimmond scored twice for CdM (14-9, 0-3), ranked No. 17 in Division 1, on its senior night.

Marina 16, Fountain Valley 10: The Vikings earned their first Wave League victory on Wednesday night at Los Alamitos High.

Marina improved to 5-6 overall, and 1-2 in league.

The Barons are 8-6 overall, and 0-3 in league.
