Baby June and Surrogate Mom Truffles

June, the 8-week-old Bengal Tabby kitten, was bottle-fed by Melanie Felfi and her family who were also fostering Truffle (a sable-color Persian mix).

Truffle experienced an emotional loss after her own kitten was adopted. The family witnessed her searching and vocally calling for the adopted kitten, so they decided to introduce the needy pair. It was a success and Truffle couldn’t be happier to be June’s surrogate mom.

June and Truffle have so much fun together; playing with toys, wrestling and napping. Community Animal Network and the family believe it is in the animal’s best interest to keep June and Truffle together. Community Animal Networks wants to encourage the public to consider adopting the pair that comes with a special discounted price.

Showing the animals in public is the best way to find them all new homes. Unfortunately, people adopt the kittens and leave the moms to come month after month, suffering through poking fingers and the stress of dogs being too close to their cages.

Meet Truffle and June at Melanie’s home in Newport Beach by calling (949) 759-3646, or come to the weekend Fashion Island pet adoption events, from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience.
