Church Sanctuary

Laguna Presbyterian Church welcomes visitors to its sanctuary for personal prayer, silent meditation or quiet time from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The church is at 415 Forest Ave. Call the church office at (949) 494-7555 for more information.

Christmas Eve Celebration

Join singers Jason Feddy, Nick Hernandez and Mary Scifres, accompanied by Pam Wicks on piano, along with Poet John Gardiner, at Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive, for a free 7 p.m. service of candlelight and carols. Prior to worship this year, the church’s Labyrinth will be open across the courtyard in Bridge Hall. From 5 to 7 p.m., the community is invited to take a breather and walk the Labyrinth’s ancient circles of inspiration in meditation and reflection. Christmas Church Services

Laguna Beach United Methodist Church is holding special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day worship services. At 5 p.m. Saturday, there will be a family worship service. At 7:30 p.m., a musical worship service will feature the chancel choir, handbells and organ and piano music. At 11 p.m., there will be a candlelight service. Cirque du Soiree

First Day Hike

To celebrate New Year’s Day, Crystal Cove State Park docent and professor Mert Hill and park interpreter Rick Connella will conduct a hike along the beach and shore cliffs of Crystal Cove. They will explore unique geology and rare rock formations. Park in the Los Trancos lot and meet at the Education Commons in the Historic District.

Tidepool Volunteers Needed

Training for tidepool volunteers at Crystal Cove State Park will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Ocean Institute. Volunteers help the public visiting the tidepools by providing information and identifying organisms. If interested, contact wbonnin@parks.ca.gov.

Pageant Of The Masters Auditions

The Pageant of the Masters is looking for men, women and children to volunteer for next summer’s show, “The Genius.” People of all sizes and ages are needed to be cast members in the world’s most famous presentation of tableaux vivants or “living pictures.” Casting call will be held at the following times: 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 7, 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 8 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 12 at Irvine Bowl Park, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.

Beekeeper Speaks at Garden Club

Mystery Authors

Laguna Beach Books will host mystery authors Elizabeth George and T. Jefferson Parker at noon at the Aliso Creek Inn, 31106 S. Coast Hwy. Tickets are limited.
