Alliance for the Arts accepting applicants for grant

The Laguna Beach Alliance for the Arts is accepting applications for the [seven-degrees] of Inspiration $5,000 grant.

The goal of the grant is to provide support for an emerging or established Laguna Beach artist so he or she can develop and present a project or program that will help Laguna Beach be recognized as a progressive arts city, according to a press release.

Deadline for applications is Feb. 8. The grant is open to both creative artists — choreographers, composers, playwrights and visual artists — as well as interpretive artists including dancers, instrumental and vocal musicians, and actors, the release said.

Three finalists will be chosen, and the winner will be announced at the Art Star Awards April 7. The winner will have 11 months to complete his or her project, and the body of work will premiere at the 2014 Art Star Awards.
