Pet of the Week

Our beautiful 15-year-old, sable Persian mix, Bentley, was chosen to become part of the new Pets For Seniors Program. He became the star of Community Animal Network’s Homeless and Hungry fundraising ad campaign, which reads, “Not everyone that is homeless and hungry can hold up a cardboard sign.”

It is most unfortunate that Bentley has been diagnosed with feline triad disease, a dysfunction of the pancreas, liver and gastrointestinal tract. The disease can be well-managed with medication, but his medication ritual will eliminate him from being part of the Pets for Seniors Program.

Community Animal Network’s new program for seniors places mature cats with senior people. The program provides for the animals’ veterinary expenses and treatments for the animals’ lifetime. If the program participant can no longer care for themselves, the animal will be placed with another selected applicant.
