Rio, as his name (“river”) suggests, is a mellow guy who likes to go with the flow — regarding all people and other dogs with friendliness.

Found as a stray, this approximately 2-year-old pit bull is likely mixed with some Labrador or golden retriever. Rio’s calmness is notable in a young dog and his relaxed nature is apparent from the photo, where he is seen lounging in the sunshine. For a larger dog (45 pounds), Rio is easy to walk on leash, attentive to commands and not a barker.

This handsome and healthy boy has already been neutered. He is a favorite with shelter volunteers and would make an outstanding family pet.
