Pet of the Week

Frankie is a longhaired dachshund, tearfully surrendered in June by an owner whose health required moving into a nursing home. Such transitions are difficult for both owner and pet. In Frankie's case, he has adjusted well. While 12 years old, he actually appears much younger, especially when he is eager for walks and happily wags his tail. Following successful treatment at the shelter, his distinctive black and brown coat now looks youthfully handsome. Frankie is house-trained, neutered and healthy for a dog his age, although he does have hearing loss and would benefit from regular dental cleaning. He is friendly with people as well as other dogs and would do best in a household that recognizes the needs of a senior canine. Please consider making his next years truly golden! Frankie's adoption fees are discounted 25% all week when you mention this announcement. For more information, call (714) 536-8480 or visit
