Teen driver injured in Huntington Beach crash; DUI suspect is arrested

A teenage girl was injured late Monday when her vehicle was struck by one driven by a man who police suspect was under the influence of alcohol, authorities said.

Police arrested a Fountain Valley man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a collision that injured a teenage girl in Huntington Beach.

The crash occurred just before 11 p.m. Monday in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Warner Avenue, according to Huntington Beach police.

The teenage girl was driving a vehicle that was struck by another, police said. She suffered a minor injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The other driver, Daniel Ray Dias, 49, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, causing bodily injury, police said.

Dias was booked at Huntington Beach city jail with bail set at $100,000, police said. He was later released on bond.
