Orange County reported 216 new coronavirus cases Monday, bringing the total to 43,925, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.

The county reported no related deaths, keeping the total at 810. An estimated 34,909 have recovered.

Hospitalized coronavirus patients numbered 414, with 132 in intensive care. The change in the three-day average hospitalized patients dropped 3.3%. The county agency also reported 29% of ICU beds and 56% of ventilators are available, and testing positivity is down to 6.8%.

The case rate is 109.7 per 100,000 people, — the only qualifier Orange County hasn’t satisfied to be removed from the state watch list. But it’s not far off from the 100 per 100,000 threshold, and if Orange County can drop below it while maintaining the other metrics, it gets closer to loosening restrictions.
