The Los Angeles Chargers are teaming up with the Newport Beach-based Hoag healthcare network as the NFL franchise’s “official healthcare partner.”

Under a multiyear partnership announced Friday, Hoag Hospital and the Hoag Orthopedic Institute will provide comprehensive healthcare services to the team. Details of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Chargers’ headquarters and practice facility in Costa Mesa — consisting of almost 102,000 square feet of building space and an adjacent 3.2-acre parcel at 3333 Susan St. — will be named the Hoag Performance Center, according to a news release.

“Partnering with a world-class healthcare provider like Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian — one that shares a similar history of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is thought possible, and a commitment to community — is a perfect fit,” A.G. Spanos, president of business operations for the Chargers, said in a statement.

“The Chargers’ executive team made it clear that they wanted only the very best in clinical talent, technology and facilities to care for their coaches and players, and we couldn’t be prouder that they selected Hoag and the Hoag Orthopedic Institute as their official healthcare partner,” Robert Braithwaite, Hoag’s president and chief executive, said in a statement. “Our commitment to delivering high-quality clinical care and innovative treatment options, just as we have done for our community for nearly 65 years, is a game-winning combination.”

Preseason training camp for the Chargers starts July 30 at the Jack R. Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa. Practices will be free and open to the public.
