A bicyclist was taken to a hospital after a crash with a Costa Mesa police vehicle, the Police Department said.

The 24-year-old man and the marked vehicle collided shortly after 11:15 p.m. Friday in the area of Adams Avenue and Fairview Road, police spokeswoman Roxi Fyad said Tuesday. Police declined to provide further information, including the man’s name and which direction the vehicles were traveling.

The bicyclist was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Video by OnScene.TV posted on YouTube showed the bicyclist being treated by paramedics on a sidewalk. His head was bandaged and his neck supported. As he was lifted into an ambulance, blood could be seen on his face.

The bicycle didn’t appear to have serious damage other than a possible broken chain.

It’s unclear whether the bicyclist was riding with safety gear or lights.
