Newport Beach resident receives Vanguard honor
A Newport Beach resident has been honored with the “2002 Outstanding
Young Professional Award” by Vanguard University’s Alumni Assn.
Daniel Amen graduated from Southern California College, now Vanguard
University, with a degree in biology in 1978. After graduation, Amen
enlisted in the Army and was stationed in West Germany for three years.
He also served as an Army physician and achieved the rank of Major.
Currently, Amen practices in child/adolescent/adult behavioral
medicine and nuclear brain imaging at the Amen Clinics in Fairfield and
Newport Beach.
He is also the author of 18 books, the most recent being the
top-selling “Healing ADD.”
