Gweneth Goodwin Taylor

Gwen Taylor died July 20 surrounded by family at her Laguna home.

The fourth generation Californian was born April 11, 1924 in San

Jose.

Taylor was a 40-year resident of Laguna. She had a keen wit and

had a love for gourmet cooking, travel and the Atlanta Braves. Her

death left an empty hand at the bridge table, a vacant seat at

numerous fine restaurants and a hollow place in the hearts of all who

knew her.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Mark and Becky

Taylor, Wendy and Patrick Carroll and Michael Taylor; seven

grandchildren and great grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley and Sean

Taylor, Whitney and Caitlin Carroll and Adam and Nathaniel Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to Friends of

the Sea Lions Marine Mammal Center, 20612 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna

Beach, 92651 or the American Cancer Center Society, 1940 E. Deere

Avenue, Suite 100, Santa Ana, 92705.

Dan McDaniel

Died July 15, 2002 of heart disease at the age of 81. Johnson was

a Laguna Beach resident for 57 years and was a superintendent of the

Laguna Beach Water District at the time of his death. He is survived

by his two sons Walt and Dan; and his five grandchildren.

Bert Borden

Died July 7, 2002 in San Diego of a heart condition at the age of

61. Borden was a Laguna Beach resident for 34 years. He served in the

US Army and was the owner of Chicken Littles, Inc. He is survived by

his mother, Myrtle Franz; his daughter-in-law, Lalo Alvarez; his

niece, Diana McCarthy; and his nephew, Robert Bordon. A memorial will

be held Saturday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at the Artesia United Methodist

Church in Cerritos.
