Emerald Bay tennis team in spotlight at UCLA

The Emerald Bay girls’ tennis team, comprised of seven players and

a coach from Laguna Beach, was honored Thursday night at the Mercedes

Benz Tennis Tournament held at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on the

UCLA campus.

The team returned to the scene where it won the Southern

California 14-and-under Division tournament in June.

The team was honored for winning both the spring and fall division

championships.

Emerald Bay will represent Southern California on Aug. 24 in a

match against Northern California that will determine the

14-and-under state champion.

The match will be played at the Los Angeles Tennis Center at UCLA.

Emerald Bay team members include Meaghan Flynn, Piper Miller,

Hayley Miller, Katherine McIntyre, Lauren Thigpen, Kimberly Smith and

Natasha Schulman.

Their coach is Gretchen Miller.
