Water district president elected to new position

Mesa Consolidated Water District’s Board President James F.

Atkinson has been elected to serve as the vice chair of the board of

directors for Leadership Tomorrow.

Atkinson was appointed to the organization’s board last year. He

also completed Leadership Tomorrow’s nine-month training program,

which focuses on acquainting business people and community leaders

with leadership philosophy and practice.

The workshops also deal with a variety of developmental issues and

encourage strong commitment and active participation.

Briny bard returns with ‘Romeo and Juliet’

Shakespeare by the Sea will return to Grant Howald Park in Corona

del Mar in August.

The shows, being sponsored by the Newport Beach Arts Commission

with the help of a donation from the Newport Beach Arts Foundation,

will feature “Twelfth Night” on Aug. 9 and “Romeo and Juliet” on Aug.

10.

The park is at 5th and Iris avenues. Shows begin at 6 p.m. both
