Science Discovery Camp
When: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to noon, July 18 through Aug. 12

Information: Young scientists work in small lab groups learning
about physics, geology, biology and chemistry. Weekly sessions focus
on different topics, such as energy and patterns of change -- for
kids 7 to 12.

COSTA MESA
GENERAL
Summer Camp Costa Mesa
When: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Aug. 26
Where: Estancia Park, 1900 Adams Ave., Costa Mesa
Additional Information: Children entering first through sixth
grade will enjoy many activities including guest speakers, games,
arts and crafts, as well as all-day and mini-excursions to local
venues. Register at the Balearic Community Center, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
Monday through Friday. Spaces fill rapidly. Walk-in registrations
will have first priority. Mail-ins will be accepted based on
availability.

regular days (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) per week per child

Summer Teen Camp
When: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through to Aug. 19
Students in the seventh, eighth and ninth grades are invited to
take part in Summer Teen Camp. Teens can participate in eight weeks
of excursions to destinations such as amusement parks, movies and the
beach. Participants must bring a sack lunch or money to buy lunch
each day. Registration is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Downtown Recreation
Center. Early registration is encouraged.
