Pirates rebound with a win

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men’s basketball team bounced back from its first Orange Coast Conference loss Wednesday with a 72-63 home victory over Riverside on Friday night in conference action.

Reggie Brown led the way with 17 points, including three three-pointers, and Lance Ortiz tallied 11 points, five assists and five rebounds.

Mykel Valentine had nine points and Matt Davis added eight points for the Pirates, who won despite getting outrebounded, 45-29.

Chron Tatum paced Riverside with 16 points and 10 rebounds. J.R. Reese tallied 13 points and Trayvon Williams added 10 rebounds for Riverside, which shot 43.5 % from the field.

Orange Coast shot 37.5 % from the field. There were six lead changes in the game.

Orange Coast (19-8, 6-1 in conference) plays at Cypress on Wednesday night.
