Plantings suggested for a peaceful Paularino Park

Residents who live near Paularino Park want it to be passive, so Costa Mesa parks and recreation staff on Wednesday will recommend putting in landscaping and trees as well as signs to enforce it. The ideas came out of a May 2 meeting that drew several dozen residents.
The consensus was that people don’t want to allow activities that impair others’ quiet enjoyment of the park, Costa Mesa recreation manager Jana Ransom said. “They just want to make sure there’s a considerate use of the park, and unfortunately you have to legislate that sometimes,” she said.
Suggestions will be discussed by the parks and recreation commission at its meeting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers, 77 Fair Drive.
