Gallimaufry & Green goes on stage

Gallimaufry Performing Arts and Gallimaufry & Greene will present a duo of performances next weekend for audiences of all ages.
Gallimaufry & Greene, the new professional dance company launched by Gallimaufry founder Steve Josephson and dancer Sean Greene, will have its first large stage show nightly at 8 p.m. on July 20 and 21 at the Artists’ Theatre, 625 Park Ave. Tickets range from $5 to $20.
The company will perform “A Night at the Movies,” which made its world premiere in April at [seven-degrees], as well as a new company premiere, “Desolation Row.” Both pieces have been choreographed by Greene, the company’s artistic director.
Meanwhile, Gallimaufry Performing Arts will present Walt Disney’s “The Jungle Book” at the Artists’ Theatre at 1 and 5 p.m. July 21 and 2 p.m. July 22.
A cast of 37 will bring the animated musical to life, including all the songs from the movie, including “Bare Necessities” and “I Wanna Be Like You,” using a storytelling method.
The production is produced and directed by Josephson, co-directed by Kym Sawtelle-Castuera, choreographed by Tod A. Kubo, and musically directed by Karen McBride.
The cast includes Noah Plomgren (Baloo), Samantha Morrice (Bagheera), Chloe Mansour (Mowgli), Cooper Henderson (King Louie), Nicolas Leighton (Old Monkey), Brendan McGrady (Colonel Hathi), Erica Bender (Shere Kahn), Haley Castuera (Kaa), Erika Tang (Shanti) and Sarah Busic, Katharine Epstein, Kiki Henderson, Haley Seitz and Emily Van Hanswyk as a combination of vultures, snakes and storytellers.
Kubo’s dance ensemble also features Celena DelPizzo-Howell, Kami Henderson, Brent Kling and Nick Shopoff.
Tickets are $15-$20 for adults, $10-$15 for seniors and students and $5-$10 for children 12 and under.
