Wacoal to donate $2 for each bra fitting, purchase

Undergarment maker Wacoal will host two complimentary bra fittings at Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza this month to raise awareness about breast cancer. For each free fitting, Wacoal will donate $2 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The bra maker will donate an additional $2 for every Wacoal, DKNY Underwear or Donna Karan Intimates bra purchased at the events. Wacoal said its research shows 80% of women wear the wrong bra size.

Participants also can sign up to receive a monthly e-mail reminder to do a self-breast exam. Research shows an estimated 178,480 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in American women during 2007 alone and monthly self-breast exams can help to detect cancer early. Wacoal aims to raise $250,000 in 2007 through bra fitting events in various cities nationwide.

Local events will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 11 at Macy’s West at Fashion Island and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 12 at Macy’s West at South Coast Plaza. Visit www.wacoal-america.com /fitforthecure for more information.
