Chapel, Woloson share top honor
Laguna Beach High junior outside hitters Scottie Chapel and Travis Woloson have been named co-Most Valuable Player of the Orange Coast League in boys’ volleyball.
Chapel had amassed a team-high 291 kills at the conclusion of the CIF Southern Section playoffs. Woloson was second, with 267 kills, and had a team-best 34 service aces and added 394 assists.
Senior libero Harrison Phelps, senior middle blocker Seth Morris and sophomore setter Robbie McKnight were named first-team all-league for the league champion Breakers. Senior Chris Bailey and junior Reed Thompson earned second-team honors.
Laguna Beach advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division II semifinals, and won the CIF Southern California Regional Division III title Saturday.
