Jones to speak on Climate Change

Joie P. Jones will speak at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. His topic will be “Climate Change, the Audacity of Hope.”

Jones has been a professor of radiological sciences at UC Irvine since 1977.

He serves as a consultant to private corporations and government agencies, including the United Nations. He was appointed by President Carter to the Presidential Science and Technology Advisory Committee, which met monthly at the White House.

Recently he served as a consultant to the Obama election committee and transition team.

Jones is currently serving as an advisor to the Obama administration in the areas of energy and health care.

Members of the community are invited.

The service will be followed by a “Sandwich Lunch” and Q&A; with the speaker.
