‘Night Out’ benefit for Boys & Girls Club

One hundred women will come together to garner support for the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach at a “Girls Night Out” event from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Wilson home, 100 Rockledge.

The exclusive event for women will include fine food and beverages, shopping at silent and live auctions, pampering and gift bags, and will directly benefit the club’s enrichment programs to ensure no child is turned away from the club due to financial circumstances.

In the past year, as the largest youth development agency in the area, the club served more than 1,500 young people and their families, made possible by the support of local corporations, foundations and individuals.

The success of this event will substantially impact on the club’s ability to promote the healthy development and academic success of more than 60% of Laguna Beach Elementary school students, according to club officials.

In a recent Harris Survey of Boys & Girls Club Alumni across the country, 57% credit the club for saving their life, 85% recognized that club staff positively affected their ability to know right from wrong, 77% learned good leadership skills, and 92% attested that helping others is a personal priority in their lives.
