Intrepid Travelers head to Crystal Cove

The Susi Q Intrepid Travelers are gearing up for an outing to the Crystal Cove State Park on Wednesday. The Intrepid Travelers use the OCTA bus system. Participants will explore historical Crystal Cove and enjoy a nature walk on the beach, and also take in the beautifully restored cottages and gift shop. Purchase lunch at the Beachcomber Restaurant or bring a sack lunch. This trip involves walking 1 1/2 miles, so bring walking shoes, a hat and exact change for the bus.

Meet at the bus depot downtown at 10:30 a.m. Return to the bus depot at about 2 p.m.

Day bus pass $3; for seniors the cost is $1.25.

Floral design class returns

Learn simple and creative techniques in all styles of flower arranging every week from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for five weeks beginning today with Debby Neville at the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St. You must confirm registration the Friday prior to each class.

Cost is $20 per class plus a $25 supply fee per class.

Ballroom dancing classes offered

Ballroom dancing classes will be offered at the Susi Q from 2 to 3 p.m. Mondays. The cost is $5 per session, and couples or singles are welcome. Participants will have the opportunity to vote on what dances they would like to learn. Candi Davis will lead students in every type of dance from slow to quick, ballroom to Latin.

Grief and Loss lecture series set

Lynne Grabyan will be teaching a four-week informational lecture series on grief and loss. You will learn the connection of grief to depression, and when signs and symptoms should lead to evaluation by a professional. Grabyan has an M.S. in clinical psychology, and is a marriage and family therapist intern in Laguna Beach. Adults of all ages are welcome to attend from 3 to 4 p.m. today and Oct. 7. Learn to live with change

Dr. Marion Jacobs author of “Take-Charge Living: How to Recast Your Role in Life"¦One Scene at a Time." Will lecture on how to manage change from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 5. Lifelong learning at the Susi Q

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is offering a series of classes at the Susi Q Senior Center. Lectures are offered by UC Irvine Extension for anyone 50 and older, with the goal of keeping the brain going by stimulating it with new and interesting ideas. Participants pay a membership fee of $20 and the fee for the course is $10. Call (949) 497-2441 for more.

Lunch chariot awaits for seniors

Sally’s Fund will pick seniors up right at their door for a free ride to a free lunch at the Susi Q Center. Call (949) 499-4100 for a reservation.
