CORONA DEL MAR — Senior Katie Bergsma had 14 points and 10 rebounds to help the Sea Kings win their pool in the CdM Tip-Off Tournament Wednesday.

Sophomore Sam Coffman added 12 points and junior Saylor Schroff scored nine points for the Sea Kings (2-0), who will face Estancia in a semifinal today at 7:30 p.m. at CdM.

Estancia 42, Anaheim 29

CORONA DEL MAR — Junior Kassie Stratton scored 24 points to help the Eagles win their pool in the CdM Tip-Off Tournament Wednesday.

Stratton hit five three pointers for Estancia (2-0). Junior Jenny Boldizar had six points for the Eagles, who will face Corona del Mar in a semifinal today at 7:30 p.m.

Laguna Beach 28

CORONA DEL MAR — Senior guard Coleen Mead finished with 17 points and hit three three-pointers to lead the Sailors in the second pool-play game at the Corona del Mar Tip-Off Tournament on Wednesday night.

Newport Harbor (2-0) advanced to the semifinals at Northwood Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Guard Mimi Gibson limited Laguna Beach’s Emily Writer to one field goal.

Alex Morton contributed seven points, nine rebounds and three steals for the Sailors.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Costa Mesa 3, Los Amigos 2

COSTA MESA — Freshman Oscar Dorantes scored on a penalty kick for the game-winner with 10 minutes left in the nonleague game Wednesday.

Freshman Jacob Lux scored an unassisted goal, while sophomore Jorge Sanchez added one goal off an assist from junior Dong-Gi Shin for the Mustangs (2-0). The Mustangs went up 2-1 after Lux scored, but the Lobos tied the game.

Costa Mesa plays at Sage Hill School Friday at 5 pm.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Estancia 52, Orange 43

NORWALK — Junior Davon Joyner scored 21 points for the Eagles in a pool-play game of the John Glenn Tournament Wednesday.

Senior Wes Shaw added 11 points and senior Kevin Thomas had nine points for Estancia.

The Eagles continue pool play agaisnt Whittier Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Sage Hill 55,

Arshag Dickranian 40

NEWPORT COAST – Senior guard Kevin Schaefer had 15 points, seven rebounds, five steals and four assists for the Lightning in their season opener Wednesday.

Junior point guard Mark Loper added 11 points for Sage Hill. Arshag Dickranian is a private school from Los Angeles. It will play host to Sage Hill Dec. 18.

The Lightning will start play in the Tarbut V’Torah tournament Tuesday when they will face Zinsmeyer Academy of Long Beach.

Newport Harbor 54 OT

SAN DIEGO — Senior forward Austin Bagby finished with 16 points in the Sailors’ opening-round game at the Canyon Crest Academy Raven Tip-Off Classic Wednesday night.

Chris Anderson had 12 points and he made two three-pointers for Newport Harbor (0-1).

The Sailors play Canyon Crest Academy today at 6:30 p.m.
