Bonnie Belle Hesse of Corona del Mar passed away in Missoula, Mont., Aug. 7 at the age of 67 from appendiceal cancer with her family at her side. Her husband and three sons will spread some ashes along the banks of her favorite Montana streams running through the family ranch. An informal gathering to honor Bonnie’s life will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Aug. 28 at the Newport Center United Methodist Church.

Bonnie was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was an educator, a mystic, an unmatched fly caster, and a wide-smiling beauty. Fortunately, the family is able to take comfort in the brilliant, big-hearted example she lived out daily.

Bonnie is survived by her mother and father, Dorothy and Bob Bauer, her sisters Robin Bauer, Sunny Carnagey and Brook Harris, her boys Robert, Tyler and Douglas Hesse, daughters-in-law Kim (Bray) and Lisa (Ribotto), the grandchildren she cherished, Paden, Nicholas, Jake, Evan — and her loving husband, Joe.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the charity of your choice in Bonnie’s name.
