Wahoo’s at Fashion Island to expand

A bigger Wahoo’s Fish Tacos will soon come to Fashion Island and feature a full bar, said a spokeswoman for the Newport Beach shopping center.

Wahoo’s will relocate from its existing space upstairs near the Edwards Island Cinemas to a 4,500-square-foot location in the Atrium Cafés, said Fashion Island spokeswoman Jane Gillespie.

The new location is almost twice as big as Wahoo’s present location at Fashion Island.

It’s scheduled to open this summer and serve as the company’s flagship location. It will feature indoor seating and an outdoor patio with a view of the Atrium Court Garden.

Other restaurants opening this spring in the same area are Stone Oven, which specializes in flatbread sandwiches and salads, and Subway. Also coming is a Sbarro location, which will open in the summer.
