Police identify signmaker

The man who made the anti-Israel signs posted near the Chabad Jewish Center was cited at 9:08 a.m. April 1 for a municipal code violation, according to police.

Hassan Sadr of Lake Forest was cited and let go after putting up unauthorized signs on public property.

The signs featured a crossed out Israeli flag and the words “Apartheid Israel.”

No other signs have been seen since.

Men arrested for drug possession

Two men were arrested for drug-related charges on Cleo Street at 12:12 a.m. Sunday.

Zaman Tahar of Laguna Beach and Taylor Scott Ruthford of Hesperia were arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Ruthford was also taken into custody for methamphetamine possession.

In a separate incident, an intoxicated man was reportedly beating a person’s car at 4:48 a.m. Sunday.

Justin Loren Nuckolls of Rancho Cucamonga was arrested by police for possession of a controlled substance and for disorderly conduct.

Windows smashed during night vandalism

A series of vehicle vandalisms happened during April 1 and Saturday nights.

Residents reported that their car windows had been smashed during the night.

The targeted streets included Oak Street, Anita Street and Driftwood Drive. There were six vandalisms reported.

The Police Department has not had the chance to plot out the incidents. They cannot say at this time if they are related.

Woman arrested after four complaints

A Laguna Beach woman was reportedly causing a disturbance and yelling at her neighbors in her apartment building in the 200 block of Cliff Drive at 9:49 p.m. Sunday.

The Police Department received four calls during the day regarding the woman. On the third call they placed her under arrest for disturbing the peace.

The building manager and three residents signed the citizen’s arrest and other residents are anticipated to come to the office and sign it.
