ROWE, STUART B.
November 14, 1928 - April 2, 2011
Stuart lost his battle with Huntington’s Disease, cancer and pneumonia on April 2nd surrounded by family. Stu, born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Elizabeth and Stuart Rowe, was raised in New Rochelle, New York. After high school, Stu joined the Navy and then went on to Worchester Polytechnic Institute, graduating in 1952. Stu spent most of his career in the air handling business with Buffalo Forge Company. Before retirement he was in charge of the company’s office for Southern California and neighboring areas.
For many years Stu worked in New York City. During those years Stu’s hoppy was sailing. Weekends he sailed out of Larchmont, New York, winning numerous trophies and championships. One year he won the World Championship in the International One Design Class. Stu was active at the Horseshoe Harbor Yacht Club and served as its commodore for several years.
Stu leaves behind his wife, Ann, sons Lew and Ted, daughter in law, Jennifer, granddaughters, Marina and Susana, sister, Janet Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
