JWA construction costs on supervisors’ agenda
The Orange County Board of Supervisors is set to vote Tuesday on about $11 million worth of work for John Wayne Airport’s improvement project.
A $7-million contract would kick off improvements to existing terminals A and B airline interior spaces and heating/air conditioning systems. Los Angeles-based ICON West, the recommended contractor, would also build interior airline areas in the under-construction Terminal C.
In other items, the board is scheduled to vote on about $4 million in additional work requested by contractors.
McCarthy Building Cos., the general contractor for the terminal, is requesting approval of $1.4 million in change orders. If approved, it would bring the contract to $109 million — about 7% higher than the original contract of $102 million.
Another request would give the terminal’s construction manager PinnacleOne an additional $2.7 million, bringing its total contract to $19.4 million.
