Hugh E. Hill, 91, of Newport Beach, California passed away peacefully on Saturday July 2, 2011.
He was born to the late Clarence and Edith Hill, on February 15, 1920 in Buffalo, New York. Hugh graduated from Grimsby High School in Ontario, Canada and later studied at UCLA in Los Angeles.
Hugh was a First Lieutenant in the Army and was trained in San Francisco in the then new field of X-Ray technology. He later served in Italy during World War II.
After he left the service, Hugh and his brother, Bruce, owned a music store in Inglewood, California for several years. He later had a long career in medical equipment sales working for Pickar, and traveled extensively in Asia.
Hugh remained healthy and active in his retirement years and enjoyed computers, using an iPad up until his death.
He is survived by his loving wife, Leota, his brother Bruce (Mimi) of Escondido, his step-son, Larry Morehead (Claudia) and grandchildren, Alex, Max and Mariel of Newport Beach and his step-daughter, Cathy Morehead (Jeffrey Pickens) of Santa Ana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite charity in his name.
A celebration of Hugh Hill’s life will be held at Larry’s Morehead’s home, 111 Via Dijon, Newport Beach, Ca. 92663 on July 31, 2011 from 4 - 6 pm.
