Police looking for bank fraud suspect
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they say is suspected of bank fraud.
The man was spotted at Newport Beach and Costa Mesa banks in July and withdrew almost $10,000 after impersonating a customer, according to a Newport Beach Police Department news release.
The man targeted the same person’s account at both banks July 20, police said.
In two photos provided by police the man is wearing a Hawaiian-style, button-down shirt with a yellow background and floral print.
He withdrew $4,000 from the Newport Beach bank, and $4,500 from the Costa Mesa location, according to the release.
Anyone with information is asked to call (800) 550-NBPD.
