Newport woman reported missing

Newport Beach police say they need the public’s help in finding a 28-year-old Newport Beach woman missing since Oct. 2.

Morgan Arevalo was last seen at 11 p.m. that day near her Balboa Peninsula residence in the 1000 block of West Balboa Boulevard, police said.

Friends said she looked drunk and unable to care for herself, according to a news release.

Detectives believe that a taxicab picked Arevalo up near her home and dropped her off in the vicinity of Newport Boulevard and 17th Street in Costa Mesa.

She was reported missing the same night.

Arevalo is 5 feet 8, 120 pounds and has long black hair and brown eyes, according to the release.

She was last seen in a gray jacket, dark blue jeans and carrying a green purse.

Newport Beach police are asking people with information about her whereabouts to contact Detective Ryan Peters at (949) 644-3779.
