Barbara (Bobbie) Johnson

Barbara (Bobbie) Johnson passed away peacefully November 19, 2011 at her home in Newport Beach, CA. She was born September 30, 1927 in San Luis Obispo, CA the second of three children born to Elmo and Ann Sanders. She was preceded in death by her daughter Diane Marie. Beloved wife, Sister, Mother and Grandmother, Bobbie graduated from Hollywood High School in 1945 where she participated and excelled in several girls’ sports and other school activities. While working at a Savings and Loan in Los Angeles , she met her husband Mervin Johnson. They were married on October 10, 1952. She is survived by her husband, sister Shirley Norby of Studio City, CA, brother Mo Sanders and his wife Joan of Atherton, CA, daughters Leslie Engelage and her husband George of Fullerton, CA, and Nancy Gray and her husband Brent of Yorba Linda, CA. She is also survived by five grandchildren Megan, Hannah and Dane Gray, Emma and Erin Engelage. She was active in Child Guidance, the National Charity League, the Whittier College Women’s Auxiliary, and the Whittier Chapter of P.E.O. Sisterhood. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Private family services were held November 25^th at the Sky Rose Chapel, Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, CA.
