Relations with French counterpart continue

Laguna Beach school officials recently discussed furthering the cultural learning experience between Laguna Beach High School and its counterpart in Menton, France.

District board President Betsy Jenkins, member Theresa O’Hare, LBHS Principal Joanna Culverhouse and French teacher Odile Dewar participated in a video conference with representatives from Lyceé Pierre Et Marie Curie High School.

There have also been video conferences between classes at the high schools, and another one is scheduled where the LBHS students will speak in French and the Menton students will speak in English. They will discuss the similarities and differences between their schools when it comes to culture and education.

“My students and I really appreciated the visit of the students from Menton. We are in the process, as we did in the past, to connect with more French speaking people and countries through videoconferencing and other cultural exchanges,” Dewar said in a statement.
