OCC sells home-grown poinsettias, ceramics

Orange Coast College is gearing up for the holidays with its annual ceramics and poinsettia sales.

OCC's 35th annual Holiday Poinsettia Sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 in the horticulture department off the Adams Avenue campus entrance.

Students have grown 11,000 plants that will be sold as individuals, in hanging baskets and in 14-inch bowls with prices ranging from $5 to $40. Presale orders can be made at http://www.occhorticulture.com, but a minimum purchase of $100 is required. A live greenhouse camera is also available on the site.

OCC's Mudslingers Club is also hosting its 36th annual Holiday Ceramic Sale with more than 1,000 items created by intermediate and advanced ceramics students.

The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8 in room Art Center 113.

Campus parking is free on the weekends with metered parking as well as daily permits available on weekdays.
