Fairgrounds CEO to speak

The chief executive of the Orange County Fairgrounds is the guest speaker for a Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce Wake Up! Newport event next week.

Doug Lofstrom, the fairgrounds’ acting CEO since April, will discuss developments and news about the state-owned property from about 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave.

Representatives of county, state and federal officials are also expected to speak.

Breakfast begins 7:15 a.m. Admission is free, though reservations are suggested by contacting Pam Smith at psmith@newportbeach.com or (949) 729-4411. Registration is also available at https://www.newportbeach.com.
