Man dies after being electrocuted in Huntington Beach

A man in his 60s died early Monday after being electrocuted in his backyard in Huntington Beach, police said.

Huntington Beach police responded to the 8200 block of Brush Drive shortly after midnight after receiving a call about downed power lines in the area, said Sgt. Tom Weizoerick.

Weizoerick said the man, who was not identified by name, went into his backyard during a power outage and came in contact with live wires.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
