A man pleaded guilty and was sentenced Wednesday to a two-year prison term in connection with an alcohol-fueled collision in Huntington Beach that injured his wife, their three young children and the driver of another vehicle.

Two other counts of child abuse with sentencing enhancement allegations of causing great bodily injury to a child younger than 5 were dismissed as part of a plea deal.

Donahue was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe when he got into a dispute with his wife just before the SUV crashed head-on with a Hyundai just before 4:40 p.m. Sept. 17 at Pacific Coast Highway and Seapoint Street, Huntington Beach police said.

The couple’s two sons and daughter, all younger than 6, were not secured properly in the back seat and were hospitalized for their injuries, according to police. Donahue’s wife also was injured in the crash, as was the Hyundai’s driver, police said.
