Boat parade lights up the Newport night

Newport Harbor turned on the lights Wednesday as the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade kicked off its 110th year of saturated light and sound.

Dozens of boats of all sizes and styles cruised the harbor as spectators jammed the public docks, private backyards and anywhere they could get a glimpse of the colorful action.

The parade runs nightly through Sunday, starting at about 6:30 p.m. from the southern end of Lido Isle.
