Investigators arrested a suspect Thursday in a robbery this month of a Newport Beach bank, and they believe he was involved in two other cases in San Diego County, the Newport Beach Police Department said.

Marco Antonio Rodriguez Arrango, 23, of San Marcos was booked on suspicion of bank robbery after police arrested him while carrying out a search warrant, authorities said.

He is suspected in a Feb. 8 robbery at a Citibank on Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach in which a man carried a Target shopping bag into the bank and handed a teller a note claiming to have a bomb and demanded money, police said.

The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Authorities believe Arrango also was involved in a robbery at a Chase Bank in Oceanside and an attempted robbery at a Wells Fargo in Escondido, both on Feb. 5, according to Newport Beach police.
