Theater renews its Triangle Square lease

Edwards Theaters renewed the lease for its cinema at Triangle

Square shopping center for another five years, shopping center

officials announced Monday. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.

The eight-screen theater has been a tenant for more than 14 years and

has been a big draw for customers as the only movie theater in a

three-mile radius, a statement from the center said.

The 191,000-square-foot shopping center has struggled with vacant

store spaces and management changes for years, but officials are

optimistic about new tenants and lease renewals such as Edwards’. The

theater is expected to lure crowds this summer for a free

family-movie festival that runs July 20 to Aug. 18. For information
