A Huntington Beach man was in custody Thursday after police said he hit another man in the head with a pool cue during an argument at a Costa Mesa bar.

William Marsh, 42, is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail after he hit 49-year-old Christopher Corbett in the head with a pool cue when the two got into an argument over their game of pool at Paul’s Place, a Costa Mesa bar on Newport Boulevard, said Lt. Paul Dondero.

Corbett was taken to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Dondero said. Police could not comment on Corbett’s condition.
