Suspect swats man with pool cue at bar, police say

A Huntington Beach man was in custody Thursday after police said he hit another man in the head with a pool cue during an argument at a Costa Mesa bar.

William Marsh, 42, is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail after he hit 49-year-old Christopher Corbett in the head with a pool cue when the two got into an argument over their game of pool at Paul’s Place, a Costa Mesa bar on Newport Boulevard, said Lt. Paul Dondero.

Corbett was taken to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Dondero said. Police could not comment on Corbett’s condition.

Marsh is being held at Orange County Jail. Records show he has a previous conviction for misdemeanor battery and several convictions for public intoxication and being under the influence.
