The following events are part of the Laguna Beach Music Festival, Jan. 18 to 25 at various locations. Tickets can be purchased at www.lagunabeachmusic festival.com.

?”The Cello Goes to the Opera,” sponsored by Claes Restaurant; 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Laguna Room, Hotel Laguna, 425 S. Coast Hwy.

Hear favorite opera arias come to life in an intimate setting reminiscent of 19th century European salon traditions. Lynn Harrell, accompanied by Victor Asunción will perform.

Cost: $50 per person, includes hors d’oeuvres and wine.

Enjoy a gourmet dinner with wine pairings at Claes Restaurant and VIP seating at the opening concert, “The Romantic Cello,” see below. $165 includes dinner, concert, and shuttle.

?”The Cello In Brazil, Broadway and Beyond,” 8 p.m. Jan. 24, Artists’ Theatre, 650 Park Ave.

Lynn Harrell, cello; Victor Asunción, piano; UCI Piano Trio; Frances Young, soprano; Cello octet comprised of LA-area professional cellists and cello performance students perform pieces from Bernstein to Ravel.

?”The Captivating Cello & Friends,” 3 p.m Jan. 25, Artists’ Theatre, 650 Park Ave.

Lynn Harrell, cello; Victor Asunción, piano; string quartet from Colburn School of Music play Bach, Berg and Schubert.

?Los Angeles Philharmonic, 8 p.m. Jan. 23, at Renee & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, Costa Mesa.

Stravinsky, Khachaturian and Rachmaninoff.

Adults: $35 for center orchestra and center sides; $30 for rear orchestra and far sides; students (21 and younger), $15.
