LOCAL NEWPORT HARBOR ELKS LODGE #1767 ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

Members, families and guests recently attended the Newport Harbor Elks Installation of Officers. Outgoing Exalted Ruler David Leonard expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Corps of Officers and Committee volunteers for the numerous charitable accomplishments of the past twelve months. Leonard singled out the Elks Charity Committee and acknowledged them for a record year of contributions to the hundreds of worthy causes in the Newport Beach//Costa Mesa community, especially during a year of great need. He also offered his congratulations to the incoming Corps of Officers, pledging his support and wishing them success in the coming year.

The new officers will be serving the Lodge for a term of one year.. They are: Exalted Ruler (Lodge president) Dave Rudder, Leading Knight Curtis Moore, Loyal Knight Stephen Madoni, and Lecturing Knight Jerry French. Also installed were: Secretary Sharron Dearborn, Treasurer Barbara Garroute, Esquire Dave Armstrong, Chaplain Jon Ellowitz, Inner Guard Missy Lott, Tiler Tony Messina, Trustees: Jack Fettig, Jim Benson, Rick Blake, Garrett Hartney, David Leonard.

In his acceptance speech, newly elected Exalted Ruler Dave Rudder said that his motto for the year is, “Setting the Course for Elkdom”. Rudder, also pledged to maintain the spirit of cooperation and involvement the Lodge has long enjoyed with the City of Newport Beach and the communities of the Newport Mesa area.

The local Lodge is preparing to attend the State Elks Convention which will be held in San Diego May 12 - 15. At that time a new State Vice President will be installed and one member of the Newport Harbor Elks Lodge will assume chairmanships in the Orange County District.

The Newport Harbor Elks Lodge #1767 is one of ten lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) whose headquarters is in Chicago , Illinois . The BPOE is a charitable organization with a 142 year history of giving, “Elks Care, Elks Share.”
