Magnolia Street closed

Huntington Beach’s Public Works Department closed the southbound lane of Magnolia Street south of Hamilton Avenue at 8 a.m. Wednesday due to flooding, Public Works Director Travis Hopkins said. The parking lot for Huntington Central Park off Slater Avenue was also closed.

Hopkins said the rain had been the heaviest in Surf City this year, with 10 park trees and 13 parkway trees having fallen the last two days. Crews had also removed 60 tons of debris from streets and parks and dealt with roof leaks, potholes and other damage.

Power is reportedly out in certain areas of Huntington Beach.
