Patricia Goody Manning of Newport Beach, California, passed away peacefully at her home after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 75.

Pat was born in Akron, Ohio to George and Helen Pflueger. She and her parents moved to Santa Barbara, California in 1949 where they managed the Edgewater Beach Motel (now The Franciscan Inn). She graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1953.

Pat attended The University of Colorado at Boulder and earned her Bachelor’s degree in 1957. Teaching and education were Pat’s passion. Her career as a teacher lasted over 30 years.

Pat met Allen Lowell Goody in college and they got married on May 4, 1957 in Santa Barbara. Allen died in 2001. Pat and Allen were the parents of Karen LeFever (spouse Paul) and Joanne Harris (spouse Rick); grandparents to Bryan and Elizabeth LeFever and Matthew and Katie Harris. Pat was blessed to fall in love a second time and married William E. Manning on October 17, 2004.

Pat was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and was proud to receive her 50-year pin. She was involved in and a member of many other organizations that included: The Adoption Guild, National Charity League, Assistance League, Mariners Church, countless bridge groups, investment club (WIMS), tennis groups at the Balboa Bay Racquet Club, and several book clubs. She was a busy and social lady!

Pat’s interests included tennis, bridge, golf, reading and traveling. She was fortunate to travel extensively; however, she would always say her favorite spot in the world was her home in Newport Beach.
